Meridian sends continuous, timestamped test traffic across your core and access network, then turns every round trip into latency, jitter and loss you can act on. Thousands of sessions per probe, per DSCP class, around the clock.
Illustrative session. Values are simulated in your browser.
TWAMP-Light is the IETF standard for two-way active measurement. Meridian's generator stamps each test packet as it leaves; the reflector stamps it on arrival and again on return. Four timestamps give you the true network round trip with the reflector's own processing time removed.
A Meridian probe transmits the test packet and records the send time, in hardware where the NIC supports it.
Any RFC 5357 TWAMP-Light reflector on UDP 862 stamps the arrival. That can be a Meridian node or third-party gear already in your network.
The reflector copies the sequence number and both of its timestamps into the reply and sends it straight back.
Meridian stamps the arrival, then computes round-trip time, jitter and loss per session and per DSCP class.
Meridian started as a TWAMP-Light engine and has grown into a proactive monitoring platform for network operators: continuous probing, turn-up testing, topology and analysis.
An async Rust engine runs every session from a single process, controlled over a local HTTP API. Add, pause and edit sessions in bulk, or import and export them as CSV.
P90, P95 and P97 latency alongside jitter and loss, per session and per DSCP class, so a congested voice queue shows up even when the average looks fine.
Run standards-based conformance tests on new circuits and hand the customer a PDF birth certificate showing the service met its profile on day one.
MAC table discovery over SNMP BRIDGE-MIB and the RouterOS API, with passive capture as a fallback, builds a live view of what is connected where.
Ask what changed on a session and get a plain-language read of the trend. Inference runs on a local model, so measurement data stays on your network.
Ships as a Docker Compose stack with host networking. Results upload over SSH key-managed rsync, so probes in remote sites need no inbound access.
Measurement is only as good as its timestamps. Meridian probe nodes are chosen and tuned for hardware timestamping on both transmit and receive, so the number you see is the network, not the probe's software stack.

A purpose-designed 1U enclosure housing the compute board, power supply and an M.2 network card, ready for a standard 19-inch rack.
A palm-sized, PoE-powered node for customer premises and edge sites. One cable for power and network, with its own API.
A fast data plane on the probe, a control plane that schedules and stores, and a view on top for engineers and customers.
